Happy Scraps Composting is a compost pickup, processing, and delivery service based in Asheville, North Carolina. We aim to put our household waste to better use, to build community, and to make the world a better place.
How does the compost pickup service work?
Our compost pickup service is simple and convenient. We provide a designated bin for you to fill with organic waste. On your designated pickup day, you leave your bin out, we pick it up, and leave you with a clean bin to fill up again!
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve the Asheville, North Carolina area. If you’re located outside our service area, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you at your location.
How much does the compost pickup service cost?
Our compost pickup service is the most affordable in the area in 2025. Prices start at $25 per month for single family households and range depending on how many pickups per month your house will require.
Prices for businesses, events, weddings, and agricultural composting are quoted individually. Contact us to get your personalized quote.
How can Happy Scraps offer such a low price?
At this time, Happy Scraps is a one-man-show, meaning labor costs that are a part of other composting services expenses is not a factor impacting the cost of Happy Dirt’s services.
Also, unlike other compost services, while other compost services drive their compostables across state lines to big composting facilities – increasing emissions and fuel costs – we process our locally. Meaning reduced environmental impact and reduced prices for Happy Scraps’ services.
What can I compost?
You can compost a wide range of organic waste, including fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea bags, eggshells, yard trimmings, carboard, and more. We are not accepting meat, bone, or seafood scraps at this time, but we are working diligently to include animal product composting in a near future.
